Learn to Drive a Golf Ball Far

If you want to know how to drive a golf ball far, you don’t have to look beyond your own mirror. Don’t blame your clubs. Don’t blame your pro. Don’t blame your golf ball. Or, the harassing your golfing buddies give you on the tee. There’s only one thing keeping you from hitting the ball far. Can you guess what it is? If I’ve eliminated the above there is only one thing left.

The tee shot is the ego shot in golf. Learning how to drive a golf ball far is way up on the list for most beginning golfers. The only problem is most amateur and beginner golfers drive it way shorter than they want to, because their golf swing technique is not proper to encourage longer golf drives. I know you don’t want to hear that, but it’s the only thing left. I think you would agree your body swings the golf club right? If you don’t agree, you might want to pick up ping pong. One very effective way to quickly improve driving distance is to have a proper golf grip. The preference is a strong one so you can rotate the clubface over through impact encouraging a draw and more yards when it hits the ground.

It’s time to wake up and “get real” as Dr. Phil says. A body that is more limber and stronger. And nourished is a body that will hit the golf ball far, given you know how to swing a golf club, which most of you do. A body that is broken will have much inefficiency, causing a lack of distance, dozens of mishits per round, and a much higher score at the end of each round. This is where beginner golfers screw up. Instead of a spine angle away from the target at impact, many have either a vertical one, or even worse, one that is more towards the target, encouraging a descending blow resulting in pop ups. Golf is a sport that to play you need to buy a lot of golf equipment. So it’s very important that you must own some resources of golf discount superstore, because they can save your money on the equipment fees. If you are not careful, golf clubs are the single biggest expense that you face. I strongly recommend Callaway Big Bertha Golf Ball in golf store shop. So discount golf clubs can go a long way toward making this expensive game more affordable.

Table Tennis, also known as “Ping Pong”, is believed to have begun life in Victorian Britain where it became the game of fun for the Upper Classes.  1901 saw a breakthrough in the game when a link was made to celluloid balls and table tennis.  The modern table tennis racket was also invented in 1901 and it was these advances in the game that kept it in the public eye and boosted its popularity in general.  1926 saw the foundation of the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) and 1988 saw the games entry into the Olympics at Seoul in South Korea.

The official dimensions of a full size table tennis table are 9 foot long by 5 foot wide but smaller versions are available for the home market and leisure industry.  As with most sports, there are international rules governing the size of the balls to be used in tournaments. The ITTF state that the balls must be 40 mm in diameter and just 2.7 grams in weight.  The table tennis racket (also known as a bat or paddle amongst others), is a wooden, lollipop shaped bat that will be covered in textured rubber on one or both sides. The ITTF regulations do permit different surfaces to be present on each side of the racket and this allows players to utilise different levels of spin or speed.  Competitive table tennis is currently popular throughout Europe and Asia and is becoming more so in America.  China has dominated the sport over the last half century although as its popularity spreads, so do the skills of European players.

What Can You Learn From a Table Tennis DVD?

Wednesday, September 1st, 2010

Watching DVDs to Learn Table Tennis

Monday, August 9th, 2010

Table tennis can be a great way to build endurance, train one’s wits, and even lose weight. Often referred to by ping pong, its trade name, table tennis entails skill and strength, and learning it can be difficult. The constant footwork can make one’s body more adapted to stress. The high speeds of the ball can sharpen one’s eyes, and make one anticipate and adapt to an opponent’s strategies. The activity associated with table tennis, moreover, can make anyone sweat and slim down.

Table tennis is played by either two opposing players, or two opposing pairs. These opponents are positioned on opposite sides of a low table, with a low net separating them from each other. Players hit a hollow ball from end of the table to the other, with the use of rubber matted rackets, keeping the ball in the air. Strategies come when the ball is spun, creating an unusual trajectory that can be difficult to follow and counteract. If a ball is not hit while it is within one team’s qualifications and capacity to hit, the opposing team may be awarded a point.

The two main skills a table tennis player has to learn are speed and spin. There are two aspects to speed in table tennis: a player has to be able to think quickly and anticipate the opponent’s moves, which can be difficult in a high speed game like ping pong. Skilled table tennis players, moreover, can hit balls at extremely high speeds, so that opponents have very little time to make their counterattack.

Spin, on the other hand, is the ability of a player to use the appropriate rubber side of his or her racket to hit the ball, and send it on an often bewildering, distracting trajectory to the other side of the table. The rubber mats that compose the two sides of a table tennis racket have their own uses: depending on their texture and composition, they can change a ball’s direction, spin it, or send it bouncing onto the table. The ability to know which side to use, what spin to use, and how to keep the ball in the air all come together to make the best table tennis players.

Thanks to recent technology, table tennis enthusiasts can train using table tennis DVDs. Through a combination of lectures on the physics of table tennis, along with hands-on prompts, DVDs can assist trainers in their classes, or can allow you to learn how to play table tennis at home.

If you are interested in learning table tennis through a DVD, then take note of these aspects of table tennis that a DVD may teach you.

• The table tennis DVD can teach you to customize your paddle. Also known as a bat, the tennis table paddle or racket can be customized to fit your needs and skills.

• The table tennis DVD can also teach you how to hold your paddle comfortably. For instance, if you wish to have a greater grip, but less control on shifting from one side of your racket to the other, then you may want to hold your racket in the pen hold grip. On the other hand, if you wish to have more shifting control, but a weaker grip on the racket, you can try the hand shake grip. Last, if you want to combine the advantages of both grips, you can try the experimental V-grip.

While these lectures and demonstrations are being shown on the DVD, you may want to hold the racket in your hand and try what position you are most comfortable with.

• A table tennis DVD will also demonstrate the different strokes associated with table tennis, and how these strokes change the speed, spin, and direction of the ball. You may want to place your TV and DVD player near the ping pong table if you want to experiment on these strokes. Be careful, however, of sending the ball hurtling toward the TV!

These are only a few of the aspects tackled by a typical table tennis DVD. You may also be taught footwork, proper posture, and defensive play. If you carry out your training meticulously, and if you watch the DVD regularly, then you may be able to play table tennis and enjoy the sport better.

An Inexpensive Way to Learn Ping Pong: Table Tennis Videos

Friday, July 16th, 2010

Nearly all sports have their instructional videos. Basketball videos can teach you how to shoot a ball into a hoop while evading oncoming opponents; soccer videos can instruct you how to kick a ball into a goal while skirting fearlessly and easily past coming defense, ala Diego Maradona; and table tennis videos can show you how to send a little hollow ball hurtling and spinning through the air, so that it can get into your opponent’s play but without your opponent hitting it. Instructional videos will show you how to score and succeed, and can even teach you a thing or two of your sport of choice’s history, so that you can appreciate the game better.

Many sports instructional videos, however, can be expensive. This has prompted many entrepreneurs, as well as professional players, to launch their own websites and provide free instructional video clips. Table tennis is no exception: you can find table tennis video clips online, and whether they are free or paid-per-view, they can help you understand table tennis and play the sport well.

Some table tennis video clips will simply show you the history of the sport, along with its rules and regulations, and with the current leaders in the game. Although this can be boring for a player who is not into lectures and classes, it can help you understand why certain rules are made in certain ways. Video clips of table tennis rules can also make you visualize rule violations better, so that you can score games correctly in the future. Moreover, if you see the sport’s current best players in action, you can have some people to look up to in order to improve your game.

Some table tennis video clips will show you the physics behind the game. They will explain how different playing surfaces can affect the trajectory of the ball, or the ability of players to play a game well. They will explain how the two different paddle surfaces can send the ball flying in different directions, and with varying spins. Watch such video clips very carefully, as they will show you all the things you need to strategize successfully for a great game of table tennis.

Other table tennis video clips will show you how to play the game: you need to know the different ways of handling the table tennis paddle, and how each handling method affects your play; you also need to know how certain postures and movements on your part can lead to injury if you are not careful during your table tennis game. Have a paddle on hand while you are watching table tennis video clips. As this is an instructional video, you need to watch it on your feet, and in player’s position, as though you were ready to play a game.

Still other table tennis video clips will show table tennis games in action. Watch how the game swiftly changes, and how the pace is frenetic throughout. You need to maintain this level of energy in your table tennis game, so watch how the players utilize their energy so that it stays up throughout their play. If you can, slow down the video so you can see how certain successful shots are made. This way, you can fully appreciate the difficulty of the game, and perhaps be pressed to learning even more about how to play table tennis even better.

Table tennis video clips provide a cheaper alternative to buying whole videos. You can skip parts that you fully understand and appreciate, and you can watch the parts that you like and need over and over again. There are many sources of table tennis video clips online: all you need to do is search for them through your favorite search engine, and look for sites that offer credible table tennis video clips for free, or for the lowest price. With practice and observation, you can turn your table tennis game around, thanks to table tennis video clips.

Forums To Help You Learn

Monday, January 4th, 2010

Table tennis is a great sport. To be really good at it requires hard training and years of practice. Imagine hitting a table tennis ball that goes in speeds of 112.5 kilometers per hour or 69.9 miles per hour. At that speed it’s very hard to even see a 40mm diameter ball. One needs rather quick reflexes in order to be able to volley the ball back and forth the two sides.

Aside from practicing really hard, one way to get proper training is to get tips and techniques from the pros. And the best place to get that information is through the mouths of the pros themselves. But if you don’t have the resources to hire a pro to teach you the works one still have another alternative. This is to join a table tennis forum.

An online community is a great place to share experiences and get information from equipment to style and playing techniques. Most of the times such online forums are free and you only need to sign up and basically you’re ready to go and surf the forum.

However, there are some basic behavior and etiquettes that one needs to observe if they join such table tennis forums. First and foremost, forum posters need to be kind all the time. Regardless of the comments they read and criticisms they receive, a forum is an online community where people need to interact civilly to make the whole community functioning smoothly.

Too many proud and rude individuals in the forum will only invite scornful comments and elicit bad blood among forum members. There are ways of being kind. One way of course is by treating all the people politely. Another way is to use emoticons like various smiley images.

Another great tip when you join online forums is to keep an open mind on things. You signed up on such a forum to learn. If you become close minded and refuse to even consider the different information posted in there, then it will defeat the purpose of signing up. Also, just like accepting the possibility that people are right in the forum, you should also learn to accept the fact that what you know is probably false or not actually the right way.

A good online community also involves keeping forum members active and participative in discussion involving table tennis and such. The more active posters there are, the more information are exchanged among members which gives them more opportunity to learn and improve the playing skills.

Also, be sure that you don’t be too full of yourself. The world is huge, there are a lot of players better than you so be sure to be kind and appreciative of the tips and techniques that you read about in the forums.

Even though you feel already set to take over the world, there’s always more to learn we tell you that. Remember to be humble and praise others more. Don’t go about the forum praising your own skills, you will definitely look like jerk in the forum.

All forums have their own set of rules and regulations. Be sure to browse the rules at least once to avoid being kicked out by the forum administrators or moderators. Also, don’t forget to keep promoting the sport.

Table tennis online forums are of great service for table tennis players especially the ones that are new to the sport.
