A chop is usually done off the table when you can really get under the ball.
If you get too much under the ball when you’re over the table you’re going to run the risk of popping it up too high.
Also the point of a push is to put a bit of backspin on it but also to keep it low so that the returning shot will have less backspin on it.
Kinda like setting yourself up for the next stroke attack.
Use the push to force the opponent to make a weak shot, then you make the 1st attack of the point.

looks more like a forehand chop.

if you did that, would the ball have backspin on it ?

  3. garethahaha Says:

Its easy to type a few words online and sound like a pro and shoot these guys down… but all your doing is making yourself look like a tool…. these guys are VERY good and make excellent educational vids.

  7. darksorcerer009 Says:

well then you cant you can use the push or the flick AKA the “mini-smash” the smash requires a lob or high ball

  8. Orrphan Says:

They are showing one stroke. Did you want him to show it once and then end the lesson after 5 seconds? He’s not saying to keep hitting the same exact shot.

  9. TheAlphaPom Says:

wow this is like ping pong for slow people. no offense but you wouldnt keep doing that in that position over and over again or your gonna loose fast

  12. stevema2 Says:

  16. HATEbeersnobs Says:

    aka the MINI -CHOP lol

  17. quickzilver333 Says:

Good techniques! The most important thing for Intermidiate players that want to improve there forehand push is to have a better feeling of the bat. Forehand push returns varies on the types of fubber and blade so don’t expect the same result all the time.

  18. marcusgrim Says:

you should use backhand loop for underspin

  19. marcusgrim Says:

you are giving the ball underspin and side spin at the same time, you should finish with the blade parallel(dont know how to write this word) with the net

  20. kickasscrooner776 Says:

if i was the opponent of that dude…….i would have use a backhand smash

  21. pingskills Says:

I am using the same kind of rubber on the backhand and forehand so there is no difference. It is an official rule in Table Tennis that you must have one black rubber and one red rubber.

  22. PingMast Says:

wats the different between the black grip and the red girp

  23. martinwyatt5959 Says:

Then you loosen your grip or change the angle of your blade. These kind of adjustments are made constantly. The core stroke is correct.

  24. daz45 Says:

the way he does it if someone chopped hard that would end up in the net 9/10.

  25. J00nas41 Says:

wow thanks this really helped me out
