Some Words About Online Bingo Games

Wednesday, June 30th, 2010

The game of Bingo is one of chance played with numbers drawn randomly whereby players match them against other numbers pre-printed on squares of 5×5 matrices. These matrices are either printed on card stocks, papers or presented to the players electronically. The aim of the game is to get a certain pattern from the drawn numbers whereby the player is required to yell out the word “bingo”. This alerts the other players that there is a possible win and another game is started.

The game was invented in 1934 and new versions of the game bingo have been invented. Ping pong type balls are shuffled with air in a transparent cage producing random numbers which kick starts the game. The game dates back into the 18th century in Italy and France. Later on in the 19th century the game of bingo was used in schools to teach children how to spell and using multiplication tables. Edwin Lowe was the one who introduced the game to New York after witnessing it in Atlanta in the year 1929. He first introduced the game to his friends and later on the game evolved and was famous all over the country. Casinos in the US offer this game where by they offer one hour sessions to their local gamblers. This game has evolved and players can now access it through the internet.

Bingo Online however is a bit different from that of bingo. Players are not required to yell out the name “bingo” as required in the other one. All one has to do is wait for the computer to flash it for them. The computer randomly selects the cards for the player and can even fill in the numbers in some websites that host the game. Another difference of Bingo Online from the latter is registering. For one to play the game in the net, one has to register unlike the other one whereby the only thing you have to do is pick the cards and wait for the numbers to be called out. There are many sites offering Online Bingo games, some even offer free bingo games for real prizes but all are free to register. However, the US senate earlier banned banks from paying any money to gambling companies. Some say that this bill was aimed at stopping illegal internet transaction with many people ending up as con victims through the internet. Some say that the bill could have been a strategy by the government to keep the American dollar from being driven out of the market. But the US senate disagrees on this and claims that it is to ensure that individuals don’t misuse their money on the internet.

Puzzles & Games- To Sharpen Your Mind!

Monday, June 28th, 2010

I am generally very meticulous about the gifts that I get for kids. Since I am aware of the impact gifts have on kids, taking them on the right track makes a huge difference to me. Logic puzzles help in sharpening up the memory of children. These brain teasers serve dual purposes. They educate as well as entertain kids.

Last week my neighbour’s kid came rushing to me to show me her school grade card. Seeing her good scores I thought I would gift her kid’s jigsaw puzzles to motivate her. She is very dear to my family and spends most of her time with us. She is an intelligent kid and I thought a puzzle will be a suitable gift for her.

I always go for online shopping since I don’t have much time to spend on shopping. I went through the Internet to get her a suitable puzzle when I came across the puzzle collection at BIGshop. And to my surprise, I found a vast variety of discount puzzle games. I was totally confused as to which one to choose.

BIGshop offers a wide range of puzzles and other games for children. They include games ranging from Chinese Checkers and Desktop Ping Pong to Cosmic Cows and 3D puzzles. Some of the puzzles available will even be loved by grownups. After browsing through the entire collection of puzzles and games, I chose the 3D Puzzle Tower Bridge since she is a 5year old kid. It is an easy to assemble puzzle which can also be used as a decorative item. Her face lit up with a wide smile when I gave her the gift and she found the puzzle interesting.

So if at all you decide to gift a kid a really sensible gift, pick a puzzle from BigShop like I did.
