Hilarious Drinking Games

Wednesday, December 30th, 2009

First and foremost, let me say that drinking games are really a blast! However, many people avoid playing them correctly, or make up their own rules. Avoid doing that!! When played correctly, the object should not be to get drunk. Often, drinking games can require skill and teamwork. This article will focus on a couple of popular drinking games, with an emphasis on playing them correctly.

The first drinking game we will feature is Beer Pong. Beer Pong is played at virtually every college bar/frat party in the U.S.You will start by placing 10 cups in the shape of a pyramid at one end of a table or flat surface. Have the top of the pyramid pointing toward the middle of the table. Fill each cup 1/2 full with beer. You will need a cup at each end filled with water. You will use these cups to clean the balls.

Form teams of two people each. Go ahead and flip a coin to determine which team plays first. Give each team two ping pong balls. Take turns attempting to either gently toss or bounce the ping pong balls into the opposing team’s cups. When bouncing the balls, make sure they bounce on the opposing team’s half of the table. The defensive team removes the balls that enter their cups, and drink the contents. The team tossing the balls is the offensive team, while the other team is the defensive team. As cups are removed, try to arrange the remaining cups into another pyramid. If both offensive players hit cups, they get to go again. The game ends when all of one team’s cups are gone, they are the losers. They are required to drink all the contents of the remaining cups.

Drinking games that require skill are great fun! Caps is a good example of such a game. Caps is another popular drinking game with the college crowd. Form teams of 2 players each, sitting approximately 10 feet from each other, facing each other. Place a 1/2 filled cup of beer in front of each person. Take turns attempting to toss bottle caps into the opposing player’s cup. When an opposing player hits your cup, you must drink the beer. If the opposing player hits your cup, you have the right to make a return throw. If you are successful, they must drink the beer. However, they have the opportunity to return as well. One point is earned for each successful throw. Most games of Caps are played until a team reaches 21, but that is up to you.

Drinking games can really add to the life of the party! Please play them with common sense. Avoid finding yourself in a position where you have to drink and drive, or you are “forced” to get drunk. The purpose should be to have fun, and nothing else. Cheers!

8 Tips to Maintain Gemstones

Wednesday, December 30th, 2009

Everybody loves gemstone jewelry! They represent an invaluable investment for the owner, both financial and emotional, and it’s only natural to want to keep them in the best shape possible.

Unfortunately, through wear and tear, gemstones tend to loose their properties, their colors fade and you are left with a piece of jewelry which, although still beautiful, just isn’t like it used to be.

So, in order to make sure that you keep your treasures in their best shape for as long as possible, you have to be more careful and do or avoid doing a few things with them. Here are a few tips that will help you achieve that:

Get informed about your particular gemstone. You can ask the jeweler for ways to wear, display and store it. An even better idea is to read about it on the internet before going to the store. You’ll get lots of insights and you’ll know if that stone is appropriate for your lifestyle and if you’re ready to do what it needs to be done to maintain it. Wear your gems only for special occasions. I’m sure you’d like to wear them everyday at work or wherever, but usually, during a normal day, you encounter various environments and are engaged in activities that are harmful to the precious stones. Whenever you need to clean the stones, do it professionally. A jeweler has the right equipment to do this and he will make sure to avoid any harm to them. He is qualified and knows what procedures are allowed on your particular gems. When washing hands in a restaurant, it may be uncomfortable, but try to take any gem rings off before because some soaps contain chemicals that may react with the jewel and disfigure it permanently. Store them carefully. Most women have a dedicated jewelry box which is a good way to do it, but you can do even better by placing each jewel in a small soft bag (made of cotton or an even softer material). This way, in the case the box falls, the jewels inside won’t hit one another. Keep your gemstones away from dangerous chemicals! There are some substances available out there to clean diamonds at home, but you should never use that for gemstones. Diamonds are very strong, they can take it, but other gemstones are very soft. A drop of bleach will totally destroy a gem! When going out for a nice evening, make sure you apply makeup before you put on any jewelry. This way, you’ll reduce to the minimum the amount of grime of them. Never wear gemstones when playing any sorts of sports. It doesn’t matter if it’s ping pong or football, you never know when you’ll get a hit and shatter the gem into pieces.

So there you have it. These are just a few tips that will help your gems keep their shine longer or ever forever. It’s all very easy and all you need is to be just a li

Beer Pong Vs Beruit

Beer Pong VS Beirut

Dear Drinkers,

Thanks for checking out my article to the point that I was asked to do one more this week. Just like the general public to cause more work for me. I’m just kidding… but seriously. Haha. Yeah I’m not really that funny at all.

So back to business, this week I would like to discuss one thing that has been bothering me for a while. As you know, I am a college student and, as one, I know what Beer pong is. But what I want to know is do I really? The answer, surprisingly to many, is no. Most college students have actually never played Beer pong in their lives. They have, however, played Beirut on several occasions.

What modern college kids are calling Beer pong is in actuality called Beirut. Beirut is 6 or 10 cups in a triangle on a table while teams on one or 2 try to throw ping-pong balls into their opponent’s cups. (For more details, look on out games page. It’s still under Beer pong.) Now we get to some real Beer pong.

OK, so the game of beer pong is, in fact, very similar to Beirut but at the same time, quite different. The table is the same, preferably a ping-pong table. And the balls, cups, and beer are the same. The only real difference is that there are more 10 cups per side and instead of throwing the balls; you actually hit them with a paddle. I find it to be a lot more fun. This does bring up a new topic though.

If the college scene, being that is, was, or going to be most of America, calls Beirut Beer pong, should we just switch them. Beirut will be called Beer pong and visa versa. This will solve the problem, right? I personally don’t think so. While people who were calling it the wrong name get to still call it that name the people who know it as Beirut lose out.

Pretty much it’s your decision. If you haven’t tried playing actual Beer pong, I would seriously suggest it. It’s loads of fun (much like your mom) and you end up getting really drunk (hence, why I know your mom is loads of fun). So try your hand and tell me what you think. I’m here all week so give me some suggestions.

Wii Stimulates The Mind

Wednesday, December 30th, 2009

The Nintendo Wii works from head to toe to strengthen the mind and body.

The Nintendo Wii is different from rival game systems like Playstation and Xbox. The Wii doesn’t offer the high tech graphics as the Playstation 3 or Xbox, however, it offers an entirely new gaming experience for the player. With Playstation and Xbox, you’re seated stationary with only your fingers doing the work. The Wii is much more physically interactive than the other systems, which means your fingers aren’t the only body part in motion.

The Wii library of games offers an assortment of categories to suit most everyone’s tastes, such as puzzles, fitness, dance, sports, racing, and more! However, you won’t find many violent, bloody games in the Wii collection. Most are family games and are appropriate for any age level.

Childhood obesity is a major health concern today. Many schools throughout the United States have endorsed or included the Wii in their physical education programs. In 2008, the British government endorsed the use of Wii’s in schools after a pilot program in five schools in Worcestershire found that the Wii helped increase the activity level and heart rate in the participating students. The Wii offers the appeal of a video game and the benefits of exercise and physical activity.

The weather will no longer be an excuse not to exercise. With the Wii you can exercise in the comfort of your own home, even if it’s a scorching 100 degrees or a frigid -10 degrees outside.

There are many fitness games in the Wii library. One of the popular fitness games is the Wii Fit. The Wii Fit uses a platform called a balance board to calculate the player’s body mass index. The balance board is also used to in the training activities, which include yoga, aerobics, strength training, and balance games. The newly revised Wii Fit Plus was released in October 4, 2009 and offers a new calorie burning counter and a new training plus category with new yoga and strength training exercises.

The Wii Fit is not only for home use. Many hospitals use the Wii Fit to aid in physical rehabilitation and some nursing homes use it for their residents as a form of low impact exercise.

The classic Wii game is Wii Sports. Wii Sports includes the game of tennis, baseball, bowling, boxing, and golf. As an amateur tennis player, this game is not only fun for me, but it is also challenging. The follow-up game to Wii Sports is Wii Sport Resort. This newest addition to the Wii Sports family includes the games of sword play, kayaking, archery, ping pong, basketball, and more! Don’t be fooled! These games will really work your muscles and you may even find yourself breaking into a sweat. The Wii Sports Resort also includes the Wii Motion, which is said to make the controller more accurate.

Another incentive to play harder on Wii Sports Resort is the chance to see a celebrity in the audience. The higher your ranking, the more celebrity spectators you will see. You may even find yourself playing against a celebrity! I was once playing ping pong against Michael Jackson! He was actually pretty good.

The Wii games not only exercise the body, but also the mind too. There are many Wii puzzle games that test knowledge and strategy. One of my favorite Wii games is Big Brain Academy. This game tests and helps increase memory, math, logic, visual recognition, and analysis. This game can be played alone or in a group setting. Big Brain Academy is so fun that you won’t realize you’re working your brain cells!

Another fun brain game is Smarty Pants. This is a multi-player, team based game, which is fun for a family or a group of friends. The game tests your knowledge on current events, history, pop culture, sports, and more. But this game is more than just a pop quiz. They throw in a tug-of-war and a dance off to keep things fun.

The Nintendo Wii is more than just a game system. It supports physical activity, family bonding, learning, and healthy living.

Activities galore on board makes Cruise Package Deals more attractive

Tuesday, December 29th, 2009

True, when it comes to me and my family, it is the variety of onboard activities that will be decisive in choosing a particular cruise. Well, the prominence of the cruise route and the places to visit along the way will also be factors that will be given due credence and consideration. In this context, the guidance provided to me by Cruise Answers in choosing the cruise with diverse activities, leisure and past-time needs appreciation immense. They have put before me cruise packages deals of Carnival and Royal Caribbean, and I was really enthused to choose both for their activities galore.

What I really liked is conduct of game shows on board that are variations of television game shows, and adapted to a cruise ship atmosphere. Ravishingly pleasure-filled are activities onboard that are similar to “American Idol” and “Survivor” Other fun-filled activities on board Carnival and Royal Caribbean cruises include a range of wild poolside games: hairy chest, sexy leg, belly flop and other contests. I liked the most, the games that promised the participation of all the guests on board. The Carnival’s “What in the Bag” and Royal Caribbean’s “The Quest” need due consideration.

Other than fun-filled activities, I observed and partook in a number of educational lectures on board cruises. Most notable of them are the dance lessons, ice carving demonstrations, backstage tours, casino gaming lessons, spa lectures, napkin folding demonstrations and galley tours and other frequent enlightening cruise activities. To be frank, I am a person with total consideration for physical fitness, and I will sure search for fitness provision on board likewise the sporting equipment, basketball courts, golf simulators, pools, shuffleboard courts, ping-pong tables, ice-skating rinks and volleyball courts. I personally liked the sporting activities abroad Royal Caribbean that includes rock climbing, inline skating, and miniature golf courses. It might be natural, but my preference is always for large ships that can offer more fitness options.

Families and women folks love shopping, and I suggest there can be no cruise line without avenues for shopping. The shopping experience of every guest on board is filled with hunting for choicest items with huge discounts to gain and sizable take-aways to carry. The shopper’s paradise on board means huge offers on jewellery, liquor, perfume, upscale clothing, watches, and cruise line items. I find it very relaxing to partake in spa sessions that are often coupled with facials, manicures, pedicures, hairstyling, seaweed wraps, and other hot stone massages.

For my children I will prefer plenty of cruise activities that may include trivia contests, scavenger hunts, face-painting, board games, craft projects and video games, adventure tours and movies. My idea to relax may be different to what others consider. In addition to partaking in the host of activities abroad the cruise line, I love to sunbath on the deck, indulge in a hot tub, recline and read my favourite book, watch my favourite movie, browse the internet and sample gourmet treats.

My cruise plans have been strategized by Cruise Answers, which is fully ABTA K5732 and ATOL 6042 protected.
